Masterchef (UK/DK/SE 2011-)

The Masterchef case includes empirical research in three countries: Denmark, Sweden and the UK. In the case of Masterchef UK, the data includes 3 interviews with production executives and production observations conducted during the filming of season 9 of Celebrity Masterchef. Further, the sample includes 10 audience interviews with individuals and groups of adults, aged 21-55 based in the UK, and website analysis of the official and unofficial Masterchef universe.

For Masterchef Denmark we have 13 production interviews, 27 contestant interviews, and 20 audience interviews with individuals and groups of children, young adults and adults, aged 6-65+, from Western and Eastern Denmark, and observations at the auditions and semi-finals filmed during September 2014.

The case study of Masterchef Sweden includes a total of 48 interviews with producers, participants, and audiences. These were conducted during the production and post production of season five of the amateur series, from November 2014 to June 2015. The data includes 12 production interviews and 6 contestant interviews, which were conducted along with production observations during week eight of filming and again during the mid stage of post-production. Further, 30 audience interviews with individuals and groups of adults, aged 18-50, from Lund, Malmö and Gothenburg in Sweden.

May and August 2014. The data includes 10 production interviews, 10 performer interviews, 80 audience interviews with individuals and groups of children, young adults and adults, aged 5-65, from all over the UK, and observations at the live venues with crowds of between 4-6000 people.
